Finding the right support for a child with autism means more than locating a provider — it means finding programs designed for the way your child actually learns, in environments where they can feel safe enough to grow. Summit Therapies offers three core programs for children in Longwood and throughout Central Florida: a clinical therapy center, a home and community-based ABA program, and a structured summer camp. Each is built around the same individualized, behavior-analytic approach, and each serves a different part of a child’s life.

ABA Therapy Center

The Summit Therapies therapy center in Longwood offers center-based Applied Behavior Analysis alongside speech therapy, occupational therapy, and family guidance — all under one roof, with a team that coordinates across disciplines. Programming is individualized and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with sessions delivered by credentialed Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). The center uses the Happy, Relaxed, and Engaged (HRE) model, which prioritizes a child’s emotional comfort as the foundation for effective skill-building.

Center-based therapy suits children who benefit from a consistent, structured clinical environment. Services at the therapy center target communication, social skills, school readiness, daily living skills, and behavior support. The center serves children from kindergarten age through high school.

  • ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and family guidance are available
  • Individualized behavior intervention plans developed and overseen by a BCBA
  • Accepted insurance: Cigna, HMTC, Florida Blue, Aetna, StepUp

Home and Community-Based ABA

For children who benefit from therapy in the environments where real-life challenges actually happen, Summit Therapies’ home and community ABA program brings a BCBA or RBT directly to the child’s home or community setting. The program is structured around strong parent and caregiver involvement—the goal is to teach families how to support their child throughout the day, not just during scheduled sessions.

Home and community ABA is an effective option for children working on daily living skills, functional communication, community participation, and behavior support in natural contexts. Families can use it alongside center-based services or as a standalone program for children who are not yet ready for a group clinic environment.

  • Sessions delivered at home, in the neighborhood, or in community settings
  • Built around parent and caregiver training as a core program component
  • Targets daily living skills, functional communication, social skills, school readiness, and behavior support
  • Accepted insurance: Cigna, HMTC, Florida Blue, Aetna, StepUp

Summit Summer Camp

Summit Therapies’ summer camp program runs Monday through Friday from June 1 through August 3, with weekly registration available. The camp is designed for school-age children with autism who can participate in a small group setting, offering language and social skill activities, academic support, sensory play, arts and crafts, and music and movement programming throughout the week.

Summer camp takes place at the Longwood therapy center facility, giving children a structured, familiar environment through the months when school routines disappear. For families already enrolled in ABA therapy, summer camp can serve as a natural complement — a place where skills practiced in therapy are used with peers in real group situations.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm, June 1 – August 3
  • Weekly registration available — enroll for the weeks that work for your schedule
  • $550 per week | 1:5 staff-to-student ratio
  • Designed for children who can follow group directions and participate without one-on-one behavioral support

How the Programs Work Together

Many families at Summit Therapies use more than one program, and the team is structured to support that. A child receiving ABA at the therapy center may also attend summer camp to maintain skills and peer interaction over the summer. A child in the home and community ABA program may be building toward the readiness benchmarks that allow them to participate in group settings. The BCBA team coordinates goals across programs so that progress in one setting reinforces progress in the others.

Families new to Summit Therapies and unsure where to start can call the team directly — the intake conversation is a chance to ask questions and identify the right fit before making any commitment.
